Paid demonstraitors. Is it truth?

Hello. I am interested in uprising, Maidan, Janukovych and so far I have been given information only from mainstream media (even though I didn´t quite believe them). But few days ago, I finally read a book about forex trading and the Slovak author was living there for quite a long time and at the end of the book he clarified the uprising from his point of view. He told, that some strange people started to "camp" on the square and it turned out that they were homeless people, junkies and they were paid for being there. They were protesting against democratically elected president Janukovych and some random oligarch Poroshenko was enthroned there in stead of him. When policemen later came, those "peaceful activists" were throwing stones and beating the policemen and western media stated, that merciless policemen were bloodthirstily beating calm women with children and that the whole Ukraine is upside down, there is a war, but he was strolling in Kyiv streets and there wasn´t any war at all. Random people and his acquaintances haven´t noticed anything as well. This is very shortened story. I would like to know your opinion and your point of view on this affair primary from Ukrainians from Kyiv.

"Dr" Azizan Osman Cult (BRUNEI BRANCH)

Ever since i started business, I've noticed this cancerous trend of young and old entrepreneurs who have been promoting the "Marketing Master" "Dr" Azizan Osman, who has been exposed in Malaysia for his fake PhD's (but people are just gonna give him a pass so they can feel good about wasting their money to sit in his VIP seminars).
Local entrepreneurs who have been duped into his cult "mentorship" will mention his name in every newspaper, radio, video interview to promote him. They will sound very confident about how they have "mastered marketing". There are some youtube videos of his giving business and marketing advice with the emotional background music to lure local entrepreneurs into his trap. His ticket prices go up to almost 4000 myr, and its mostly marketing or business advice you can get from a nice cheap book or browsing the internet or those awesome Jack Ma (alibaba.com) videos (free) on youtube.
Why am I so salty? Coz i have a special hate in my heart for MLM's and MLM-ish cults and their deceptive methods of bleeding our people dry, and i hate that his cult slaves are promoting him everywhere. Now I know that mentioning his name here might promote him in a way, but i trust that the majority of the reddit community will not fall into his trap. I wanna know what people think of this cult movement being present in Brunei.
Even in the west, marketing or business coaching is considered a new way of ponzi or scamming people. Here is some logic, if youre successful you will share your knowledge for free. This is similar to the "Master Forex Trader" scam where they charge people to teach them how to be a master, and if things go south its your fault, not the scammer.

I'm a 30 year old Teacher with 8k savings, I'm looking to invest some of it somewhere, and start a new career. Teaching is fun but it's draining and doesn't pay enough.

Hi everyone! I have low-income, 35k-50k depending on if I work 2 jobs. My expenses are less than 1k a month, I don't pay rent yet, I have a 750 credit, low utilization on credit cards, no 401k or IRA. I have some precious gemstones and pokemon cards as assets lol Some people were saying learning day trading can be good long term, or getting into wholesaling real estate. I don't know though. I live in the North-east of USA. I can maybe move down south where my money might stretch more. I'd be nice to turn 5k into 10k through investments and find a new job that pays more than 60k so I have more buffer money but I'm not sure if that's possible. It took me so long to save this little bit amount and don't want to lose it
I appreciate any advice or opinions
Thanks all for responding. I will definitely implement the advice given! Sorry for the lack of details in the post, my first time posting here. I'm not a traditional teacher. I'm a Bachelors's level ABA Therapist, I work with people who have autism and it pays 35k before taxes. I'm also a live-in aid to an adult who has autism (hence no rent) that pays 12k after taxes. I haven't worked as an ABA Therapist for a year because I was learning Digital Marketing. I ended up not liking it. I live in NJ, very close to NY. I will go back to get an ABA Job soon so I can save. My cousin flips properties in NJ and Florida so he's the one who told me about wholesaling real estate. He just started day trading Forex and said he's made money on some trades. That's where I got that idea from. I have a Robinhood account with 100 in there that jumped to 119, and I have 300 in bitcoin that I haven't checked in a while. For reference, The little financial advice I've got is from my dad who grew up dirt poor. He's not poor anymore from working hard and saving but he's not much of a sharer. I used to track my monthly spending and I have an excel sheet with my checking, saving, bill dates, and monthly and yearly slots to add numbers and see how the numbers change. But yeah I don't know much and I want to learn...I guess also worth noting I've made a lot of unwise impulse purchases. Vacations, clothes, video games, events, restaurants, shoes, books, alcohol, electronics.

One year resume. Live testing before backtesting.

Hello,
I‘m on this algotrading journey starting with crypto for exactly one year now. My strategies have not been profitable yet. I have programmed my bot, teached it all the technical indicators I got to know myself first, have left it live trading and losing half of its assigned budget. I‘ve read alot about backtesting on this forum and started learning this wierd pine script language on Tradingview. I got good looking backtest results based on some simple RSI/MACD scripts. The bot got some fresh budget assigned to lose some of it again. Leaving it running for three months the blue backtest profit hill is slowly turning red as well in the meantime. Overfitted to the max obviously. I tried implementing my own backtester to add some machine learning to even more overfit the overfitted values. I somehow left it in the dark for now and have never used it for live trading yet reading so much about overfitted backtesting within this sub.
Since two months I have now completely stopped using backtesting due to this disappointing experience and completely went towards paper trading (using virtual budget on my bot). I have also tried to minimize usage of technical indicators because of the lagging. I consider all the coins instead of only BTC now. The price action is clearly linked to BTC tho (very visible!). Managing my (virtual) budget and allocation towards trades is a big learning for me as well.
I slightly look into backtesting again to validate my strategies. Still not profitable but won‘t give up there. I feel heavy doubts sometimes using it but it gives back hope as well.
How do you balance your efforts from backtesting compared to live/paper trading?
With my full time job I have somehow developed a ritual when coming home the first thing in wifi range is checking the paper trades that my bot has done over the day. Most often re-writing the whole strategy due to bad performance. I need to get more patient on that. Next I want to read more about Forex. Ordered my first book about it yesterday.
Just wanted to share my story. Hope it can motivate or helps in some way.

Instagram forex traders will not make you successful.

I feel like I need to have a rant.
I have been trading for just over a year now and I have just started to become profitable. What made me profitable? Blocking out all of the rubbish that comes from forex Instagram. I didn’t find a fancy new strategy. I’m using the strategy that I formed in the first 3 months of me trading. So why only now am I starting to become profitable when I knew about the strategy almost a year ago?
Because i chose to digest information coming from instagram forex traders.
I’m not talking about the obvious scammers you see on your Instagram feed such as IML, broker commission marketers, or any of the likes. I’m talking about the select few that portray themselves as trading veterans and are popular in the trading community. They are constantly posting on their stories/profile 24/7. At least once a day they will post something like ‘only 2 slots left In my mentorship’ or ‘come join my free telegram channel’. Warning: if a trader you follow is trying to promote something, even if it’s just for Instagram followers, unfollow them. They will not help you become successful.
So I had my strategy by month 3 of trading. I backtested it and it worked. But I started taking advice from these traders, I got my hands on a few of their courses and my trading began to fail. Every single course was pathetic. Never showed any live trading. No proof of anything. Always making excuses of why they can’t tag their MyFxBook.
I unfollowed all these ‘traders’ and now I am profitable.
Rant over.

Hi, I'm new into Forex and I have some questions. (sorry for bad grammar but I'm not good in English)

Hi, I live in Portugal where making 800€ its an "decent" amount of money per mouth. I'm not rich, but I'm not poor either but I'm a bit limited about the deposit volume. I can't give 1000€ and to speak frenkly I'm looking for a good broker with a good laverage where I can spend about 10€ - 100€ max.
Like a said, I'm new, I'm a student and I hope someday I will make a living with forex. I know it's a lot of work, I don't know what strategies I'm looking for or what indicators are usefull or not, the only strategie I know so far is the how to identify a trend.
I'm curious about all the groups on Instagram about courses, but I like to think that I'm not that dumb and I don't want do fall in a scam choosing a wrong "guru".
I have some books to read about forex but again, I don't know if they are good or "modern".
So, my questions are: . Is there a good broker with a honest laverage for someone who can only spend 100€ max? . What are the main strategies to study first? . What's better, 1min trade? Day trades? Months trade? . Are robot are actually good and if yes, how to install? . Are copy trading actually legit??
Thanks for the time spend reading my problems and sorry again for the bad English.

Feeling unconfident after reading?

I recently read Mark Minervini's trading super performers book and made notes on the strategy and some of the more common formations. I felt like I got a lot of information out of it and I'm happy reading it but after going through my notes, I began paper trading and found that I was extremely unconfident.
I kept self-doubting the formations I saw and kept losing money. I used MACD + RSI but couldn't find any strong indicators so I felt like I was a bit lost on what i was doing wrong. I didnt look at stocks instead I looked at forex because I knew they were more volatile but even then I couldnt find any good buy signals. I also used a stock screener but couldnt find any stocks that looked too promising.
Is this normal? I havent read much other content about trading so I am unsure if this is because of the lack of knowledge or practical application as this is my first time trading. Should I be reading more books on strategies or should I just keep working on paper trading?

The Art of Currency Trading by Brent Donnelly

I’m currently reading The Art of Currency Trading by Brent Donnelly. I’m really impressed with it so far and think it’s fantastic. I’m curious what others think about it because I don’t see it listed in the FAQ and I couldn’t find any discussion of it in the sub. Has anyone else read this and have any opinions on it?
